Ultimately, work on Shadow of the Sith itself halted and Blackman shifted his focus to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II. While the project ultimately did not move forward, Blackman repurposed loose elements, including part of the title, for the new project in 2008. Blackman had previously pitched a project in 2004 titled Star Wars Episode VII: Shadows of the Sith, focusing on the character of Ben Skywalker. ĭevelopment on the project began in 2008 after production on the video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed began to wind down.
